Union Minister Ashwini Choubey inspects Adani Power Plant in Godda

Godda: Union Minister of State for Forest, Environment, and Climate Change, Ashwini Kumar Choubey, visited the Adani Power Plant in Godda for inspection. Arriving in Godda via Banka around 12:30 pm on Friday, Choubey was welcomed by the power plant’s station head Ramesh Jha, O&M head Prasun Chakraborty, and HR head Amit Kumar with bouquets.

During his visit, Choubey engaged in discussions on environmental matters with senior officials of Lalmatia Coal Field in the administrative building of the power plant. The officials provided information about the advanced environmental management facilities installed within the power plant premises. Choubey was also briefed on safety regulations and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

The Union Minister inquired about the overall management of the power plant from Rajiv Sinha, an official from the Regional Environment Control Board, expressing his satisfaction with the information received. Choubey suggested planting more trees for environmental protection in the entire Godda region, including the power plant complex.

During the meeting, discussions covered various topics, including environmental control in the coalfield, with the participation of Lalmatiya Coal Field’s General Manager Arupnanda Nayak and Om Prakash Chaubey. Choubey spent about an hour in the plant premises, planting trees to emphasize the importance of environmental protection. Representatives from the Deputy Director General of Forests, Central Pollution Control Board Regional Director, Divisional Forest Officer, SDO Godda Baijnath Oraon, CO Godda, Godda MLA Amit Mandal, BJP District President Rajeev Mehta, Former Mahagama MLA Ashok Bhagat, and senior officials from Adani Power were present during the visit.
