Tata Steel Growth Shop Jamshedpur employees get major pay hike under new wage pact

Jamshedpur, June 26: Employees of Tata Steel Growth Shop (TGS) at Gamharia in Seraikela-Kharsawan district have secured a significant salary hike after the management and the union signed a new seven-year wage revision agreement, mirroring the recently concluded Tata Steel Jamshedpur wage settlement.
The agreement was signed on Thursday by Tata Steel Chief People Officer Atrayee S Sanyal and union president Rakeshwar Pandey.
Under the revised settlement, the minimum salary for employees in the old grade has been increased from Rs 47,420 to Rs 75,535 per month, while the maximum salary has risen from Rs 68,005 to Rs 1,08,315 per month.
Employees in the old grade will receive an average monthly increase of Rs 25,582, whereas those in the new grade will benefit from a monthly hike of Rs 18,238.

The agreement also enhances various allowances. Employees in the old grade will receive an additional Rs 3,000 in allowances, while those in the new grade will get an increase of Rs 3,225.
Higher Technical Qualification (HTQ) benefits have also been revised upward. For both old and new series employees, the GS-1 grade benefit has been increased from Rs 460 to Rs 845 per month, while the GS-6 grade benefit has been raised from Rs 580 to Rs 945 per month.
The Team Performance Award has been standardised at Rs 600, comprising Rs 250 each for safety and performance, along with Rs100 under the designated component. House Rent Allowance (HRA) has also been enhanced by 10% of the basic pay as on June 1, 2026.
The revised wage settlement is expected to provide a substantial financial boost to TGS employees while aligning their pay structure with the benefits extended under Tata Steel’s latest wage agreement.
