Ranchi, June 26: In a major step towards strengthening school education, the Jharkhand government will hand over appointment letters to 1,042 newly selected Assistant Teachers for government primary and middle schools.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren will distribute the appointment letters at a ceremony at Khelgaon, Ranchi, on June 29 at 1 pm, with selected candidates from across the state expected to attend.
The appointments include 274 teachers for Classes I to V and 768 teachers for Classes VI to VIII. The recruitment is aimed at filling long-vacant teaching positions and improving the quality of education in government schools.
Among the upper primary appointments, 387 teachers have been selected for Social Science, 231 for Mathematics and Science, and 150 for Languages, ensuring subject-wise staffing in schools.
District-wise, Palamu has received the highest allocation with 123 appointments, followed by Giridih (92) and Koderma (81), while Ramgarh has the lowest with just four appointments. East Singhbhum will receive 39 teachers, and Seraikela-Kharsawan will get 34.
The appointments are part of the state’s ongoing recruitment drive for nearly 26,000 teachers, launched in 2023. Around 12,500 teachers have already been appointed, and the government has said the remaining vacancies will be filled in phases to further strengthen the state’s education system.
