Students of 8 Jamshedpur schools join hands to save Swarnarekha

Jamshedpur: The students of eight city schools have come together to conserve river Swarnarekha. They discussed river conservation and other related issues at a programme organized at Dayanand Public School on Monday under the aegis of Jampot Greens, a wing of Kalpavriksha Foundation.

Addressing the participants, environmentalist Gaurav Anand said Tarangini is a commendable programme to spread mass awareness on water conservation and saving rivers.

The participating schools include Dayanand Public School, Narbheram Hansraj English School, Kerala Samajam Model Public School, Hill Top School, Rajendra Vidyalaya, Motilal Nehru Public School, ADLS Sunshine Public School and Karim City College.

During the programme, the participants were informed about the importance of every single individual in saving the rivers. Various academic institutions of the city would launch a public awareness drive on river and water conservation through various media.

Among those present during today�s programme included Taraknath Das, Tarun Kumar, Papiya Chakravarty, Kiran Sinha, Vishwajeet Chaterjee and Sheela Satish.
