Jamshedpur, Dec 12: Two unidentified motorcycle-borne criminals looted a mobile phone from one Rajesh Kumar Singh of Bistupur near Marine Drive under Sonari police station area on Sunday. They also allegedly beat him up when he showed resistance, sources said.
Sonari police began an investigation into the case after lodging an FIR against unidentified persons on the complaint of the victim.
Rajesh told cops he had gone to Sonari for some work and was returning home through Marine Drive around 1.30 pm. On his way, two bike-borne men intercepted him and tried to snatch his mobile phone from him. When Rajesh resisted, the accused persons beat him up and ran away with his phone, sources said.
Cops said they were trying to identify and arrest the culprits.
