Two held with stolen bike in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, June 24: In a significant breakthrough during a special evening patrol operation, Parsudih police arrested two alleged offenders and seized a stolen motorcycle bearing a forged registration plate. The accused were reportedly attempting to dispose of the vehicle while evading police scrutiny.
According to police officials, the arrests were made after a patrol team noticed two youths moving under suspicious circumstances in the Parsudih area. On spotting the police, the duo allegedly tried to flee, prompting officers to launch a swift chase and apprehend them after a brief pursuit.
During verification, the motorcycle—a Hero Splendor displaying registration number JH05DQ7610—raised suspicion. Subsequent examination revealed that both the registration plate and supporting documents were forged. The vehicle was immediately seized for further investigation.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Mangal Gop, a resident of Subhash Nagar in Chhota Govindpur under Parsudih police station limits, and Gurucharan Sardar alias Chhotu Sardar, a resident of Kocha Basti in Sundarhatu under Govindpur police station.
During interrogation, both accused allegedly confessed that the motorcycle had been stolen and that a fake registration plate had been affixed to conceal its identity and avoid detection by law enforcement agencies. Investigators suspect that the duo was planning to sell the vehicle.
A case has been registered at Parsudih police station under relevant sections of law. Following completion of the necessary legal formalities, both accused were produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody.
Police have also launched a detailed probe to ascertain the origin of the stolen motorcycle and determine whether it had been used in any other criminal activities. Further investigation is underway.
