Seraikela, Dec 27: Tapan Bagchi of Seraikela, who had endeared himself to the masses passed away on Tuesday. He was 81 years old. Late Tapan Bagchi was the elder brother of former Food Minister of undivided Bihar, Chandan Bagchi.
The Late Tapan Bagchi had served as the District Congress Vice President for three terms, member of All India Congress Committee (AICC) and Spokesperson of Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee (JPCC). He had a deep attachment with art and culture in the region and was a member of the State Chhau Nritya Art Center. The news of Tapan Bagchi’s passing away spread like wild fire and a pall of gloom descended on Saraikela-Kharsawan district.
