Jamshedpur: Pushed to the brink by an ongoing water crisis, Jamshedpur West MLA Saryu Roy and his party workers on Tuesday issued an ultimatum to civic authorities: restore the water supply to parched areas of Mango immediately or face a massive public agitation.
The decision came during consecutive morning and evening strategy meetings chaired by the legislator at his Bistupur residence. The workers will draft a comprehensive list of civic grievances plaguing the Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) jurisdiction. A delegation will then confront senior administrative officers to demand immediate redressal. The party warned that if the bureaucracy fails to act on this memorandum, workers will take to the streets in protest.
Fury Over Inactive Civic Bodies
During the deliberations, party workers slammed the Mango Municipal Corporation (MMC) for its lethargic and inefficient working style.
“The corporation has locked up developmental and cleanliness projects for which tenders were cleared months ago,” the angry workers stated. “Halting ongoing public welfare works like this is completely unacceptable.”
