Patna Women’s College Alumnae Mourn Founder Dr. Chandraprabha Pathak

Jamshedpur: The sudden passing of Dr. Chandraprabha Pathak, former Head of the Psychology Department at Jamshedpur Women’s College, has plunged the local academic and social fraternity in grief. Dr. Pathak, who fought a prolonged illness, breathed her last on the morning of May 28. Born, raised, and educated in the steel city, she maintained a lifelong bond with Jamshedpur. Her husband, Mr. Durga Dutt Pathak, a retired senior officer of Tata Steel, still resides in the city.

Dr. Pathak served as the Founder President and a driving force of the Patna Women’s College Alumnae Association, Jamshedpur. Her dedication, vision, and sharp organizational skills built the Association into a vibrant, respected platform that empowers women and serves society. She single-handedly united generations of Patna Women’s College alumnae under one umbrella.

Members Remember a Compassionate Leader

Remembering her impact, Association member Dr. Joohi Samarpita noted that Dr. Pathak bound all members together with an unbreakable bond of affection. As a distinguished psychologist, she possessed a deep understanding of human emotions and relationships, ensuring she never hurt anyone’s feelings while selflessly working for the welfare of others.

Paying tribute, Association President Vidya Tiwari remarked, “No one can take the place of Chandra Didi. She was a dedicated woman of principles and values who accomplished every goal with fierce determination. Under her leadership, our Association reached new heights.”

Recalling their close bond, Ruby Sinha shared that despite the age gap, the shared values and culture of Patna Women’s College connected the members so deeply that generation gaps completely melted away.
