TMH contract worker found dead in Bistupur

Jamshedpur, April 22: A tragic incident was reported from the Bistupur police station area on Wednesday, where a contract worker employed at the Tata Steel UISL Public Health Centre in Northern Town allegedly died by suicide, triggering panic in the vicinity.
The deceased has been identified as 45-year-old Megha Mukhi, who was engaged in fogging work. According to reports, he had arrived for duty at around 11 a.m., but shortly thereafter, his body was discovered hanging inside a godown on the premises.
Upon receiving information, the police rushed to the spot, took custody of the body, and sent it for post-mortem examination. An investigation has been initiated, and officials are examining all possible angles.
While preliminary findings suggest it to be a case of suicide, the exact cause behind the extreme step remains unclear. Police are currently questioning family members and co-workers. Meanwhile, representatives of the workers’ organization have hinted at possible wage-related issues, though authorities have stated that all aspects are under thorough investigation.
