Thief commits suicide in Adityapur company, FIR lodged

Jamshedpur, Oct 31: An unidentified man accused of theft in Shiv Inorganic Company, Adityapur, reportedly committed suicide on the company premises late Saturday night. He was found hanging in a godown of the company with a wire tied round his neck.

Adityapur police reached the godown and broke its door open to gain entry. The body was sent to MGM Medical College for postmortem examination after an inquest.

According to Rajan Kumar, officer-in-charge of Adityapur police station, a case of abetment of suicide has been registered against the company management. He said the deceased had entered the company premises with the view to commit theft, but was caught by the company staff and beaten up before being locked in a room. The accused later ended his life, he said.
