Jamshedpur, Oct 31: Thieves took away cash and ornaments worth Rs 6 lakh from a house at Road No 15, Jawaharnagar, early Monday morning. The house owner Dhurandhar Sharma had gone to the house of his elder brother Dhirendra Sharma for Chhath Puja. When he returned home, he found the front grill broken and the house in disarray. The thieves had taken away gold ornaments worth Rs 5 lakh kept in two almirahs. They also stole away cash worth Rs 50,000 and several precious utensils kept in the bed box. Sharma’s wife fainted on coming to know about the theft. An FIR was lodged against unidentified persons in this connection. In another incident, thieves took away cash and jewelry from the house of one Amarendra Kumar Tiwary from a quarter in Jemco under Telco police station area early Sunday morning.
Cash and ornaments worth Rs 10.60 L stolen from police quarter
Jamshedpur, Oct 31: Thieves stole away cash and ornaments worth Rs 10.60 lakh from the house of a police officer, Upendra Singh, at Quarter No L4-12, Road No 1 in Sidhgora early Monday morning.
Sources said the thieves targeted the house when Upendra Singh had gone to Sakchi Pump House Ghat with his family members for Chhath Puja. When he returned, he found the lock at the backside grill broken. On going inside, he found the house in a mess and the cash and ornaments missing from almirah. An FIR has been registered in this connection by Sidhgora police on the information of Upendra Singh. Upendra Singh said the thieves had entered the quarter by scaling the wall in the backyard.
