Jamshedpur, Feb 11: In a disheartening incident at the Bhatia Basti Kali Temple in Kadma, Jamshedpur, a case of theft has been reported, revealing a breach of security. The culprits targeted the temple’s donation box by breaking the lock on the main gate. The incident came to light when Temple priest Bablu Pandit discovered the missing donation box upon reaching the temple on Sunday morning.
The thieves made a clean getaway with the donation box, which was later found in a worker’s flat complex approximately 500 meters away from the temple premises. Bablu Pandit promptly reported the incident to the police, who arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation.
Local residents are expressing their dissatisfaction with the security measures in the area, accusing the police of inadequate patrolling. Concerns have been raised about the escalating number of drug addicts in the vicinity, potentially contributing to the rise in such criminal activities.
Bablu Pandit, the temple priest, revealed that the donation box had not been opened for a year, and it is estimated to have contained around Rs 90 thousand. In response to the complaint, the Kadma police promptly took action, examining CCTV footage from nearby installations to aid in their investigation.
