Jamshedpur: In a recent ceremony, Bhagwan Singh, the Chief of the Central Gurdwara Management Committee (CGPC), was honored at the eleventh Sikh Education and Excellence Award program held in Asansol, West Bengal. Singh received this prestigious recognition for his exceptional contributions to Sikh society.
The event, graced by the presence of renowned lawyer Harvinder Singh Phulka, known for his legal battle against the 1984 riots, celebrated the outstanding work of Bhagwan Singh. Notably, CGPC Chief Sardar Bhagwan Singh extended an invitation to Harvinder Singh Phulka to visit Jharkhand, to which Phulka readily agreed. During their interaction, Phulka pledged his full support to the families of the 1984 riot victims in Jharkhand, promising to visit soon.
The two Sikh leaders engaged in meaningful discussions during the event, with Phulka assuring Bhagwan Singh of his unwavering commitment to fighting for the rights and welfare of Sikhs, a cause he intends to pursue tirelessly.

The organizing committee also took the opportunity to honor CGPC General Secretary Amarjeet Singh during the event. The ceremony was further attended by prominent members of the CGPC, including Sukhdev Singh Bittu, Surender Singh Chhinde, and Arjun Singh Walia, highlighting the significance of the occasion in promoting Sikh education and excellence.
