Jamshedpur: Singhbhum District Hindi Sahitya Sammelan, Tulsi Bhawan, marked the auspicious occasion of Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti cum Vijaya Milan (Kavita Kalash) in a grand celebration organized by the Sahitya Samiti on Monday. The event was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including the institute’s trustee, Arun Kumar Tiwari, and director, Madhavi Upadhyay.
Notable guests in attendance were Vijay Ghosh, a senior campaigner of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Muralidhar Kedia, a trustee of the institute, Subhash Chandra Munka, the president, and Yamuna Tiwari “Vyyathit,” the executive president of Sahitya Samiti, along with guide Dr. Ragini Bhushan. The program commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by these distinguished guests.
The event continued with a reverential offering of flowers to the images of Mother Saraswati Vandana and Maharishi Valmiki. Prasenjit Tiwari, the Honorary General Secretary, provided an enlightening discourse on the life and legacy of Maharishi Valmiki. He emphasized the importance of observing his birth anniversary as a day of Social Harmony, underlining the need to eradicate caste-based discrimination to strengthen Hindu society.
The celebration featured more than 45 local poets and writers, who presented their self-composed poetry recitations and hymns dedicated to the Mother Goddess, adding a literary and cultural dimension to the event.
