Seminar on human rights and hunger held at Arka Jain University

Jamshedpur, Dec 11: Sixty five per cent women of Jharkhand suffer from anaemia while around 15 lakh children below five years of age suffer from malnutrition. There is urgent need to launch a holistic programme to help them. This was observed by Manoj Mishra, chairman of Roti Bank Charitable Trust, on the concluding day of the two day seminar on human rights and hunger organized in the Pharmacy department of Arka Jain University on Sunday.

Mishra said the report was issued by the government as a part of the National Family Health Survey Report 5. He said the students should come forward and work at grassroots level.

The programme was chaired by Dr Jyotirmoy Sahu. He said there was need to fight hunger and malnutrition.

Several students were conferred with Hunger Hero Award for their excellent work in fighting against hunger. Many dignitaries were present during the programme.
