Saryu Roy performs Ramarcha Puja at Baridih office

Jamshedpur, July 13: The annual Sri Ramarcha Puja, on the occasion of auspicious Guru Purnima was organized on Wednesday at MLA Saryu Roy’s Baridih office. The prayers were conducted in ritualistic manner. Ramarcha Puja is prayer to Lord Shri Ram, Devi Sita and their entire divine family in keeping with the scriptures related to the epic, Ramayana. Well known priest Pandit Gauri Shankar from Begusarai led a team of seven priests that included Pandit Vinod Pandey and Prem Prakash Pandey also known as Dhanji Pandey.

Ramarcha Puja rituals commenced at 8 am and concluded at 5 pm. Saryu Roy prayed for peace and prosperity of mankind. The congregation during Ramarcha Puja at legislator Saryu Roy’s Baridih office included several city residents and guests from several places of the Jharkhand and other states.

Rudrabhishek of Lord Shiva will be performed on Thursday, July 14 as it coincides with the first day of the holy month of Sawan. Maha Prasad will be distributed among devotees from midday on Thursday after Rudrabhishek. The Ramarcha Puja Prasad includes the famous Hathikan Puri named because of its similarity in size to an elephant’s ear.

It may be mentioned that Ramarcha Puja is being performed annually since the last 17 years and the Maha Prasad is distributed among 45 to 50 thousand devotees from Jamshedpur, other parts of Jharkhand and other states. Due to the COVID-19 waves over the last two years, Ramarcha Puja was organized but community Prasad distribution was not organized.
