Saryu protesting to hide his failures: Dr. Ajoy Kumar

Jamshedpur: Former MP and senior Congress leader Dr. Ajoy Kumar launched a scathing attack on MLA Saryu Roy, accusing him of protesting merely to cover up his failures over the past five years. In a press statement released on Tuesday, Dr. Ajoy said that Saryu has suddenly started Roy’s concerns about the district administration’s delays in development work after remaining silent for half a decade.

“Lying and deceit are old habits of Saryu Roy,” Dr. Ajoy alleged, further accusing the MLA of shifting blame onto the district administration to divert public attention. He pointed out that the Moharda water supply scheme, which has faced issues, is operated by Tata Steel Utility Infrastructure Service Limited (TSUISL), formerly known as Jusco. “Instead of holding TSUISL accountable for providing clean water, Saryu Roy is wrongly blaming the district administration,” Dr. Ajoy said.

Dr. Ajoy also criticized Saryu Roy for failing to address basic infrastructural issues during his tenure. He highlighted that the road from Jemco to South Gate, which is under TSUISL’s responsibility, has not been repaired in five years. “This is his report card,” Dr. Ajoy remarked, emphasizing the MLA’s lack of action. Furthermore, Dr. Ajoy criticized Roy for not taking a stand against the land mafia, saying, “In all these years, not once has Saryu Roy his voice against the land mafia.”

The accusations have added fuel to the ongoing political rivalry, with both leaders preparing for the upcoming elections, where development and governance will be key issues.
