Jamshedpur, Oct 1: A Railway vigilance department team conducted surprise raid in the parcel coach of Howrah-Tata Steel Express and detected overloading. The officials imposed a fine of Rs 24,000 on the agency concerned responsible for the loading and unloading of parcels in the coach, sources said.
The raid has led traders scampering as they apprehend penalty for understating the total load booked by them.
Sources said the vigilance officials have also raided several other trains to prevent overloading and other malpractices.
