Jharkhand CM describes Amitabh Chaudhary death as irreparable loss 

Ranchi, August 16: Jharkhand  Chief Minister Hemant Soren paid tribute to former Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) chairperson and former IPS officer Amitabh Chaudhary on his sudden death on Tuesday due to heart attack.

Hemant Soren reached the residence of Amitabh Choudhary at Ashok Nagar at Ranchi on Tuesday evening and paid tributes by laying floral wreath on the body of Amitabh Choudhary.

Expressing shock at the untimely demise of Amitabh Choudhary, the Chief Minister said that the personality of Amitabh Choudhary had a distinct identity in the state and in the country. While working in the state government as IPS and JPSC  chairperson Choudhary discharged his responsibility very well. He was a responsible and loyal person towards his duty. People have always appreciated the work done by him. The Chief Minister said that today we all have not only lost an officer but a lively person in the form of Amitabh Choudhary.

The Chief Minister said that Shri Chaudhary has played an important role in giving international recognition to Jharkhand. He has been instrumental in taking forward cricket in the state.

Soren also described Choudhary’s death as an irreparable loss to the state, country and cricket world and said he would always remain a source of inspiration for the youth and youth associated with sports. The Chief Minister said that he will always be remembered as an efficient sports administrator.

The Chief Minister has prayed to God to give place to the departed soul at his feet and give strength to the bereaved family members to bear the loss.

Senior IPS including Jharkhand DGP Neeraj Sinha and chief secretary Sukhdev Singh also reached Choudhary house to pay their condolences.

The last rites of Amitabh Choudhary would be held on Wednesday.

Amitabh Chaudhary, the former BCCI acting secretary and president of Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) died of heart attack on Tuesday morning.
He was 62.
A retired senior IPS officer, who rose to the rank of IGP with the Jharkhand Police, the former top cop was instrumental in construction of a world class cricket stadium at Ranchi.

He was also the SP of Ranchi as well as Jamshedpur for several years and played a crucial role in curbing crime in both the cities.

An IIT Kharagpur alumnus, Chaudhary was instrumental in getting the first-class status for Jharkhand after BCCI disbanded the Bihar Cricket Association during the late Jagmohan Dalmiya’s tenure in the early part of the new millennium.
