Narbheram Hansraj English School launches literacy programme on Independence Day

Jamshedpur, Aug 16: The ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ was celebrated at Narbheram Hansraj English School (NHES) to commemorate 75 years of India’s Independence on Monday.

The programme commenced with the hoisting of the national flag. The student cabinet members undertook the initiative to launch the literacy programme because ‘ one teacher, one pen, one book can change the world ‘.

The focus will be on women support staff because it is true that when you educate a woman, you educate a generation.

Principal Paramita Roy Chaudhury and core group of administrators and teachers Tandrima Banerjee, acting Vice Principal and Kathakali Ghosh, senior teacher and Jyoti Club Moderator actively encouraged the students and lauded them for initiating this project as part of the Amrit Mahotsav campaign.

This is not a one day activity but a yearlong endeavour which will have far reaching positive consequences, said a teacher.
