Jamshedpur: The city police have arrested six accused in the firing incident at the ‘Unique Collection’ clothing store in Jugsalai. The police have recovered four country-made pistols, five live cartridges, three empty magazines, six mobile phones, and a Magna car from the possession of the arrested individuals. Following the completion of paperwork, all the accused were remanded to judicial custody.
Regarding the incident, it was reported that on May 15, bike-borne criminals had opened fire at the Unique Collection clothing store located in the Jugsalai Municipal Council market. According to the police, the motive behind the firing was extortion and spreading terror in the area.
On the instructions of the SSP, a special team was formed under the leadership of the City SP and the supervision of the Deputy Superintendent of Police (Law and Order). The police advanced their investigation based on technical evidence, secret tips, CCTV footage, and other clues.
During the investigation, the accused were identified as members of the Manish Singh gang. Taking prompt action, the police arrested Abhishek Srivastava alias Aryan, Rahul Singh alias Badku, Harpreet Singh Bhamrah alias Happy, and Rahul Singh alias Getlu from Shivghat, Jugsalai. Additionally, Baneshwar Namta alias Manas was arrested near the Burmamines Railway Yard, and Ankit Sonkar alias Ankit Khatik was apprehended near the Jugsalai Girls School.
Providing details on the matter, City SP Lalit Meena stated that the police are conducting a thorough investigation into the case, and a manhunt is underway to nab other criminals associated with the gang.
