Jamshedpur, March 6: Ayush Kumar, a resident of Tayo Colony in Gamharia of adjoining Seraikela-Kharsawan district, has brought laurels to the region by clearing the prestigious Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Examination in his very first attempt.
In the 2025 examination, he secured an impressive All India Rank (AIR) 143, emerging as the topper from the Kolhan region.
Ayush’s remarkable achievement stands as a powerful inspiration for young aspirants who dream big despite limited resources. He credited his success to disciplined self-study, making effective use of online platforms and educational content available on YouTube during his preparation.

Ayush is the son of Pradeep Kumar and hails from Tayo Colony in Gamharia.
He completed his early schooling at Vidya Jyoti School, Gamharia, before pursuing his Plus Two education from Chinmaya Vidyalaya, South Park, Bistupur in Jamshedpur.
For higher studies, he went on to graduate from Guru Ghasidas University, Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh).
At present, Ayush is working in the IT sector in Bengaluru, where he balanced his professional responsibilities with rigorous preparation for the UPSC examination.
Speaking about his journey, Ayush said that the blessings of his parents and consistent hard work helped him achieve success. He prepared largely through self-study while continuing his job, demonstrating exceptional dedication and discipline.
His achievement has sparked celebrations among family members, relatives, and residents of the area.
