Dumka: Sudipa Datta, a resident of Jharkhand’s sub-capital Dumka, has brought glory to the state by securing the 41st rank in the prestigious UPSC Civil Services Examination. This achievement marks the culmination of her third attempt at the competitive exam.
A Journey of Persistence
Sudipa’s path to success was a steady climb. While she missed the Preliminary stage in her first attempt due to incomplete preparation, she reached the Interview round in 2023. This year, she finally hoisted the flag of victory. Interestingly, she also recently secured the 24th rank in the CDPO examination conducted by the JPSC.
Rooted in Local Education
Sudipa completed her early education at St. Joseph’s School in Banka (10th) and Sido Kanhu High School in Dumka (12th) with a focus on Science. She later earned her graduation in Political Science from Aditya Narayan College, Dumka.

Success Through Digital Learning
Choosing not to migrate to expensive coaching hubs, Sudipa prepared entirely from her home in Dumka. She utilized online resources and spent more than 10 hours every day studying. She also frequented the State Library in Dumka to maintain her rigorous preparation schedule.
UPSC 2025: National Highlights
A total of 958 candidates qualified for the UPSC Civil Services in 2025.
