Jamshedpur, February 3: The second edition of the Fr Enright Cricket Tournament (X-FECT) concluded on Sunday afternoon at the XLRI grounds, with an exciting competition that saw XLRI BMHR emerge as champions in the Men’s Category and XL Gliders win the Women’s Category.
In the Men’s final, XLRI BMHR faced off against Vintage Warriors (DTDC). XLRI BMHR emerged victorious, winning by 26 runs. Nikhil from XLRI BMHR was named the Man of the Match for his explosive 61 runs off just 20 balls. The Blank Panthers (KFMS) secured the 3rd position.

In the Women’s Category, XL Gliders triumphed over XL Strikers, winning by 44 runs to claim the championship. Samreen Siddiqui of XL Gliders was named Player of the Match after scoring 43 runs off 19 balls.
The closing ceremony was attended by XLRI faculty, staff, students, sponsors, and well-wishers. The winners received trophies, mementos, and cash prizes in various categories, including Best Batsman, Best Bowler, Best Fielder, Most Sixes, and Most Valuable Player.

In the Women’s Category, Sanchi of XL Gliders was declared the Most Valuable Player of the tournament. In the Men’s Category, Lalit Sejwal bagged the Most Sixes, Best Batsman, and Man of the Tournament awards for his remarkable performance, scoring 389 runs with 49 sixes in just four innings. Vighneshwaran took home the Highest Number of Catches award for his 11 catches. Rohit Paulos of the Loyola Alumni Association was named the Best Bowler, having taken 14 wickets during the tournament.
The tournament, themed “Play for a Cause,” aimed to promote the values of Caring and Sharing. With 14 teams participating, including a strong women’s contingent in the second edition, the event received significant support from amateur cricketers and generous sponsors.
