Jamshedpur, Feb 3: Jamshedpur Women’s University (JWU) is all set to host its second convocation on February 4, with all preparations in place for the event. The convocation ceremony will be graced by the presence of Jharkhand Governor cum Chancellor, Santosh Kumar Gangwar, who will attend as the chief guest.
The university had formed various committees to ensure smooth arrangements for the event, and these committees have now finalized their tasks. Under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Anjila Gupta, the convocation will be held on a grand scale at the Sidhgora Campus.
A meeting was held on Monday with the heads of all committees, where the Vice Chancellor reviewed the preparations for the ceremony. The convocation will see the participation of 872 girl students who have registered to receive their degrees. Among them, 32 students will be awarded gold medals for their exceptional academic achievements. Additionally, 59 rank holders will be present at the ceremony to be recognized for their excellence.
In attendance at the meeting were Dean of Student Welfare Dr. Kishwar Ara, Proctor Dr. Sudhir Kumar Sahu, Registrar Rajendra Jaiswal, Controller of Examinations Rama Subramanian, Finance Officer Dr. Javed Ahmed, Development Officer Dr. Salomi Kujur, Chairman of the Sports and Culture Committee Dr. Sanatan Deep, IQAC Director Dr. Ratna Mitra, and all Deans, Heads of Departments, and faculty members.
The final rehearsal for the academic parade was held on Sunday evening marking the last step before the grand event.
