Jamshedpur: Loyola School hosted the Second Fr. Cecil Leeming Volleyball Tournament on April 1 and 2. The event honoured the institution’s founding principal, Fr. Cecil Leeming, celebrating his lifelong commitment to discipline, teamwork, and excellence.
A Competitive Arena for Jamshedpur Schools
The tournament transformed the campus into a vibrant arena, drawing enthusiastic participation from 21 teams representing 13 schools across Jamshedpur.
Distinguished dignitaries graced the event, including:

The school choir opened the program with a soulful hymn, followed by a special ceremony to honor match officials and sports teachers for their dedicated efforts.
Vig English School and D.B.M.S. Claim Championship Titles
The competition witnessed high-intensity matches across both categories, culminating in well-deserved victories:
Boys’ Category:
- Champions: Vig English School
- First Runners-up: K.P.S. (Gamharia)
- Second Runners-up: Tarapore School (Agrico)
Girls’ Category:
- Champions: D.B.M.S. School
- First Runners-up: J.H. Tarapore School
- Second Runners-up: K.P.S. (Gamharia)
Recognizing Individual Excellence
The tournament also celebrated standout individual performances. Ankit Yadav from Vig English School earned the Best Boy Player award, while Shaikha Shahnawaz of D.B.M.S. School claimed the title of Best Girl Player.
Principal Fr. Vinod Fernandes concluded the event with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the participants and organizers before the gathering closed with the National Anthem.
