Jamshedpur: Tyres still burning inside godown

Mail News Service

Jamshedpur, May 30: Fire men had almost doused the flames emanating from the tyre godown in Anand Vihar Colony near Dimna Chowk on the National Highway 33 yesterday. A heavy rain that soon followed had further extinguished the fire. But soon after the rain stopped, the fire was reignited due to high-speed winds. Smoke reportedly came out of the godown late night. Sources said the flames were coming from tyres that were still burning inside the godown.

Two fire tenders were pressed into service early morning along with three water tankers. The firemen said the fire would get extinguished on its own once the remaining tyres are completely burnt. They said there was no threat of the fire spreading to adjoining buildings.
