Jamshedpur: City police here arrested two persons for allegedly demanding Rs 25 lakh extortion money from the Bistupur-based businessman Govind Nagelia.
Those arrested were identified as Mohammad Tabrez Khan and Ehsan Khan alias Vicky. The former is a resident of Dumaria police station area of Gaya, Bihar, while the latter is a resident of Road Number 17, Azadnagar. Ehsan Khan worked in Nagelia�s boutique. Mohammad Tabrez is his friend
Police also confiscated a Samsung mobile phone and SIM card reportedly used in the crime.
During interrogation, the accused persons reportedly confessed their involvement in the extortion demand. Ehsan told cops he had threatened Nagelia over phone and demanded Rs 25 lakh in extortion money. He had threatened to kill a member of Nagelia�s family in case his demand was not fulfilled, police officials said.
A team led by SP City Prabhat Kumar investigated the case and arrested the accused persons on the basis of clues about their involvement.
