Jamshedpur traffic cops collecting voters’ application for registration

Jamshedpur, Dec 3: City traffic police have joined the district administration in the campaign to register new voters on the electoral roll.

Sources said the traffic cops are taking details of young voters on the sidelines of traffic checking drive at five places across the city which include Sakchi roundabout, Golmuri Chowk, Jugsalai PS checkpoint, Chhappan Bhog checkpoint at Bistupur and Mango Chowk. East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav has directed the traffic police department to join the voters’ awareness campaign.

During the campaign, those voters whose voter’s card is not linked to Aadhar number are being helped in getting linked. Such voters are also being taught about the linking process. They are being informed about the ongoing summary revision of electoral rolls programme through various means, sources said.
