Loyola School Telco hosts 6th annual sports meet

Jamshedpur, December 3: Loyola School, Telco hosted its 6th annual sports meet for classes kindergarten to std 7 on Saturday.

Leopard house bagged the overall championship while Panther house finished first runners-up. The second runner up and best march past title was bagged by Cheetah house, The best discipline -Jaguar House, best athlete Boy was adjudged Ronit Baxla while Mati Baskei was adjudged best athlete in girls. 

East Singhbhum senior superintendent of police Prabhat Kumar was the chief guest while Nirmala  Kumari Barelia who is the District Education Officer and Mrs. Bari Murmu who is the chairman of zila parishad East Singhbhum as the special guests. 

The distinguished guests  comprised Rev.Fr.K.M.Joseph,S.J.Rector Loyola Jamshedpur,Rev.Fr.C.V.Alvin vice chancellor of Jamshedpur diocese, Rev.Fr.Kuruvilla S.J Province co-ordinator and director of ERC,Rev.Fr.Pius Fernandes S.J Principal Loyola School Bistupur,Rev.Fr.Gerry school administrator. 

The chief guest addressed the students explaining the importance of sports in a students life.

With the hoisting of the sports flag march past began, led by school commander in-chief Nikhil Jaiswal and Sidhant Kashyap bearing the school flag,followed by panther house squad led by Sebastian Kacchap and Arpita, leopard house squad led by Aditya Kumar and Anushka Singh,Jaguar house squad led by Gopal Krishna and Anushree Singh and lastly Cheetah house squad led by Anshul Kumar and Jaspreet Kaur.This paved the way to the torch ceremony, the torch bearers were Prince Das,Sujal Lohar,Khushi Munda and Riyashree Behera, who are the most promising and challenging athletes of the school.After the oath taking ceremony the chief released the balloons and declared the sports meet open.

There was a wonderful band display by the Drums and Bugle Cops led by Lakshya Verma.Various drills were put up by the students,LKG-UKG students performed the smiley formation drill, sunflower drill was put up by the students of std 1-2 and yoga drill was put up by std 3-4 students representing the Indian flag depicting the 75 years of progressive India.

Students were awarded with trophies, medals and certificates for various on field and off field events. Special trophies were awarded for the following categories:
