Jamshedpur: Steps to curb illegal mining launched, two Haiwas seized

Jamshedpur, May 31:  Following the instructions of East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav, a campaign against illegal mining and transportation of illegally mined minerals has been launched in the district. District Transport Officer (DTO) Dinesh Ranjan, leading a team, seized two Haiwas laden with illegally mined minerals. One Haiwa was seized from Jadugoda and the other from Potka. According to information a fine of Rs One lakh was imposed on the owners of the  of the seized vehicles for transportation of illegally mined minerals. The District Mining Officer has been instructed to take further action against the seized vehicles’ owners.
