Jamshedpur: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Abhay Singh, along with his supporters, paid a floral tribute to the statue of Veer Shiromani Maharana Pratap at Marine Drive today to mark the warrior king’s birth anniversary.
The event saw the participation of prominent community leaders, including Jharkhand Kshatriya Sangh President Shambhunath Singh and Chandragupta Singh.
Relevance of Maharana Pratap’s Legacy
Addressing the gathering, Abhay Singh emphasized that Maharana Pratap’s life has become increasingly relevant in modern India. He stated that the Mewar ruler did not fight merely for the protection of the Kshatriya community but remained steadfast in his commitment to the freedom of Mother India, refusing to bow before any foreign power.
Singh criticised historians, alleging that “leftist thinkers” intentionally spread confusion among future generations by labelling Akbar as ‘Great.’ He described Akbar’s policies as destructive, claiming the Mughal emperor used greed to convert the influential while showing no mercy to those who resisted his authority.
Inspiration for Future Generations
The BJP leader highlighted Maharana Pratap’s lifelong struggle for his motherland, noting that he could have easily accepted Akbar’s suzerainty but chose the path of resistance instead.
“The biography of Maharana Pratap should be taught in every school and college across India,” Singh said. “This will ensure our children learn never to bow before any enemy nation.”
