Jamshedpur players win 14 medals at National Taekwondo Championship

Jamshedpur: Players from East Singhbhum delivered an outstanding performance at the 40th National Senior Khiroogi and 13th National Senior Poomse Championship, as well as the 7th National Cadet Khiroogi and Poomse Taekwondo Championship, held from January 28 to 30, 2025, at Kotla Vijay Bhaskar Reddy Indoor Stadium, Yusufguda, Telangana.

Jharkhand emerged as the overall winner of the championship, securing 16 gold medals out of 36, while Telangana finished as the runner-up. The athletes from East Singhbhum contributed significantly to Jharkhand’s success by winning 7 gold, 1 silver, and 6 bronze medals.

The players earned their place in the national championship by winning gold medals at the 24th Jharkhand State Taekwondo Competition, held at Rajasthan Bhawan, Dimna, Jamshedpur, on January 18-19, 2025.

Team coach Santosh Tiwari, along with manager Sarita Gop and Chanda Devi, accompanied the players. Jharkhand Taekwondo Association’s Executive President and East Singhbhum Taekwondo Association’s Secretary, Gopal Kumar, honored the medal winners and wished them success in their future endeavors.
