Jamshedpur, June 27: The court of Additional District Judge IV Rajendra Kumar Sinha convicted Suman Singh and Sagar Mahali of gangraping a 20 year old student in Birsanagar here on Monday. It will pronounce verdict on the quantum of punishment on 30th June.
The case dates back to 10th February 2021 when Suman Singh allegedly took the victim to Birsanagar along with him under pretext of taking her to meet his sister. But instead of taking her to his sister, he took her to Hurlung and was also joined by his friend Sagar. Both accused gangraped her. Later an FIR was lodged againt the two.
Meanwhile, in another case, the court of Additional District Judge V Sanjay Kumar Upadhyaya acquitted one Deepak Rajak in a rape case of Sitaramdera police station area. The alleged incident had taken place on 28th March 2021.
