Jamshedpur, June 27: State Health Minister Banna Gupta Monday lashed out at the Central government for launching Agnipath scheme during a one day Satyagrah programme before the Jamshedpur Collectorate.

Addressing party workers, Gupta said the Agnipath scheme derided the youths and the armed forces of the country. “Defence training is very tough. After undergoing training, our brave jawans defend the country in most challenging and adverse situations against its enemies. But under the Agnipath scheme, the youths will not even learn march past well in a span of just six months and after three and a half year, they will retire,” said the Minister

Gupta claimed that the youths of the country were finding it hard to lend acceptance to the Agnipath scheme. “Youths are agitating all over India. Modi government came to power on its poll plank of ‘One Rank, One Pension’ and now it is talking about ‘no pension’ scheme like Agnipath,” he said.

Gupta said the Central government was leading youths down the garden path. He said the Congress stood in solidarity with the youths.

Modi government cheating youths: Congress

Jamshedpur, June 27: East Singhbhum District Congress Committee organized Satyagrah against Centre’s Agnipath scheme at Birsanagar Sunday Market here on Monday. Senior district committee vice president Prince Singh led the programme.

Addressing the gathering, the Congress leaders blamed the BJP for coming up with an ‘ill-conceived’ scheme like Agnipath and ‘cheating’ youths. They said the Congress stood in solidarity with the youths of the country and was ready to throw challenge to the Modi government on every front. They said the Centre will have to withdraw the scheme like the farm laws.

Many party workers were present during the agitation programme.

Congress organizes Satyagrah in Baharagora

Jamshedpur, June 27: Congress leaders sat on ‘Satyagrah’ against Centre’s Agnipath scheme under the Baharagora Over Bridge on Monday. Party’s Baharagora unit in-charge Kamal Kishore Agrawal said the scheme would pose serious threat on the security and sovereignty of the country. He further said that the scheme would jeopardize the future prospects of youths.

Senior vice president of district Congress committee Sanjay Singh Azad said inducting youths into armed forces on contract basis was an ill-conceived idea and that it would make the army vulnerable.
