Seraikela, Sep 21: The court of Additional District Judge (II) Kankan Pattadar of Seraikela Civil Court sentenced four convicts of a murder case to rigorous life imprisonment here on Wednesday. It also imposed a fine of Rs 20,000 on each of the convicts.
The convicts, Mukhta Alam, Akhtar Alam, Mohammad Shabbir and Mohammad Jahir are residents of Seraikela. The murder dates back to 27th September 2018 when police had recovered the body of one Mohammad Nassir from Mudiya Talab area of Seraikela. Nassir’s wife Reshma Khatun had lodged a police complaint against the accused persons with the Seraikela police station. She said her husband had gone to Kolabira to purchase fruits around 6 pm. Near Mudiya Talab, he was intercepted and shot dead by the accused persons, she said in her complaint.
