Jamshedpur artist creates 1,000-foot Mural in Gurugram

Promotes Awareness on Women’s Health and Hygiene

Jamshedpur, June 14: Jamshedpur-born artist Suman Prasad has brought pride to her hometown by leading the creation of a massive 1,000-foot-long wall painting in Gurugram. Along with her team, FlaminArt, she completed the artwork at the underpass near the HUDA City Centre Metro Station, earning recognition for both the artistic achievement and its social message.

The mural project was carried out in collaboration with the Pinkishe Foundation and Amazon, with support from the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority and the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about menstruation, women’s hygiene, and related social issues.

Spread across nearly 1,000 feet of wall space, the mural features around 50 different paintings. Each artwork highlights important themes related to women’s health, dignity, and hygiene. The images were designed in a simple and engaging manner so that members of the public could easily understand the messages being conveyed.

Speaking about the project, Suman Prasad said that the mural took more than a month to complete. She and her team worked continuously throughout the project, overcoming several challenges along the way. Despite difficult weather conditions and technical obstacles, the artists remained committed to their goal and worked tirelessly to finish the painting on time.

Suman credited the success of the project to the dedication and teamwork of the FlaminArt  members as well as the support received from partner organizations. She said that collective effort, determination, and a positive approach were key factors behind the successful completion of such a large-scale initiative.

According to Suman, art is much more than a form of visual expression. She believes it can be a powerful tool for creating awareness and encouraging positive social change. Through her work, she aims to address important social issues and inspire people to think differently about topics that often remain neglected.

The achievement has been widely appreciated by residents of Jamshedpur, who view it as a matter of pride for the city. By using art to communicate meaningful social messages, Suman Prasad has demonstrated how creativity can contribute to public awareness and community development.
