Jamshedpur, Sep 21: Members of Bagbera Colony Panchayat Committee have demanded cleaning of various grounds in Bagbera before Durga Puja.
Sunil Gupta, a member of the Committee, met the block development officer of Jamshedpur Pravin Kumar and handed over a memorandum to him demanding that the cleaning drive be launched without delay.
“We have demanded cleaning of Kunwar Singh Maidan, Nehru Maidan, Shaheed Maidan, Chitragupt Puja Maidan, Ganesh Puja Maidan and Durga Puja Maidan. Due to deposition of garbage at these places, it is not possible to celebrate Durga Puja properly and threat of epidemic breakout also looms large on the various localities. Hence we have requested the BDO to take necessary steps to clean these grounds and prepare them for puja,” said Gupta.
Sources said the BDO has convened a meeting at the block office auditorium on 27th September to discuss issues related to waste management in the area and find a solution.
