Jamshedpur crime: One arrested with arms in Golmuri shootout case

Jamshedpur, Feb 13: Police arrested one Uday Choudhary in connection with the incident of firing near Cable Town Hall under Golmuri police station area here on Saturday. They also confiscated a pistol, one motorcycle and bullets from his possession.

DSP (CCR) Animesh Kumar Gupta said there were cases of murder, extortion and abduction against Choudhary. He said police were looking for another suspect, Kunal Singh, and his associates in the Golmuri shootout case.

In the shootout, armed criminals had fired at one Ranjeet Kumar Pandey. The bullet however escaped closely. Pandey was hospitalized and an FIR was lodged against Uday Choudhary and Kunal Singh in this connection, cops said.

The firing had taken place due to a dispute over a transaction of Rs 50,000. It had caused panic in the locality. 

The DSP said the remaining accused would be soon arrested.
