Committee to help families of martyrs: Guv
Ranchi, February 13: Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren and Governor Ramesh Bais paid floral tribute to the mortal remains of Assistant Commandant 168 Battalion, CRPF, S. B Tirkey who was martyred in an encounter with militants in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh on Saturday.

The Governor and chief minister paid obituaries and saluted the valour of the CRPF officer and both met the bereaved family members of the martyr and consoled them at CRPF headquarters in Dhurwa, Ranchi. The Governor said that the government will always stand to help the families of the martyrs. The deceased CRPF jawan was a native of Ranchi and was in Chhatisgarh for the last five years.
The Governor said that another brave soldier of ours was martyred for the sake of the country. The martyrdom of SB Tirkey, Assistant Commandant of CRPF, will never go in vain. The cowardly act of the militants will be given a befitting reply by the jawans. In Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh, the security forces are fighting the militants fiercely. In such a situation, sometimes soldiers get martyred during the discharge of their duties. All concrete steps will be taken to ensure that such incidents do not happen in the future.
The Governor announced that a committee would be formed to help the families of the martyrs and it is being actively considered by the government. He prayed to God to give peace to the departed soul and a place at his feet.

The Chief Minister said that another brave son of Jharkhand sacrificed himself to protect the country.
“We are all proud of his martyrdom. We are definitely hurt by such cowardly act of the militants. We have once again lost a member of our family, but this will not dampen the morale of the jawans. Our jawans will give a befitting reply to such elements with more strength and power. The nefarious intentions of the militants will be destroyed. The Chief Minister said that his full condolences are with the families of the martyrs. The government is always standing by their side to help them,” said Soren.
The Chief Minister prayed to God to grant peace to the departed soul and strength to the bereaved family members to bear the loss.

Jharkhand Chief Secretary Sukhdev Singh, principal secretary to Chief Minister Rajiv Arun Ekka, ADG Operations Jharkhand Police Sanjay Anand Latkar, IG, Jharkhand Sector of CRPF, Rajiv Kumar and other senior officials and wife of martyr Pushpa Manjula Tirkey and father Stephen Tirkey and other relatives paid tribute by garlanding the body.
