Jamshedpur, Jan 5: The BJP has asked its workers to make Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s public meeting in Chaibasa (West Singhbhum) on January 7 a historic one. The Home Minister would be addressing a large gathering of BJP workers. He will address a public meeting at Tata college ground in Chaibasa, besides other engagements,
Jamshedpur Mahanagar BJP president Gunjan Yadav convened a meeting at the party’s Sakchi office. He appealed to party workers to ensure maximum participation of workers during Shah’s programme so as to make it a huge success. He claimed that preparations are in full swing to host 1.50 lakh plus people at the meeting.
Party workers from the three districts of the Kolhan division — East Singhbhum, Seraikela-Kharsawan and host West Singhbhum — participated in the programme in large numbers. Union tribal affairs minister, Arjun Munda, and the entire state leaders are expected to attend the function. The Home Minister is coming to Chaibasa as part of the BJP’s election planning to take stock of the state of political affairs in the constituency and mobilise the cadres for the 2024 parliament general elections.
In the 2019 parliament polls, the BJP candidate Laxman Gilua, who was then a sitting MP and state party president, lost to JMM and RJD supported Congress candidate Geeta Koda. The UPA candidate polled 4,31,815 votes and the BJP candidate polled 3,59,660. Further, six assembly seats make up the Singhbhum parliament constituency. The assembly seats include five in the West Singhbhum and the Seraikela assembly seat in adjoining SeraikelaKharsawan district.
The State president Deepak Prakash recently also appealed to the workers to be organizationally strong from the booth level to the district level. He also directed to make public welfare schemes of the Modi government accessible to the people and to benefit them. He said the party would take the message of the state government’s failure to do anything for tribal uplift in rural areas so that villagers and tribals come to know about the reality. He said that the government wants to distract attention from essential issues. “Any discussion on issues such as unemployment, tribal welfare is sought to be suppressed through diversions,” the senior leader said.
