Ranchi, Feb 5: The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) will begin the Matriculation and Intermediate board exams on February 11, with exams continuing until March 3. The JAC has issued detailed guidelines (Standard Operating Procedures or SOPs) to the District Education Officers (DEOs) and exam center superintendents in all districts to ensure smooth conduct of the exams. Preparations for the exams in Purbi Singhbhum are in the final stages, with seating arrangements being made at all exam centers. This year, a total of 47,636 students are expected to appear for the exams. Although the JAC has not yet released the admit cards, it has assured students that they will be available after February 5, advising students to prepare in the meantime. The exam centers are spread across Dhalbhum and Ghatshila subdivisions, with 45 centers in Dhalbhum and 26 centers in Ghatshila for matriculation exams. For intermediate exams, there are 23 centers in Dhalbhum and 12 centers in Ghatshila.

The total number of students appearing for the exams includes 25,380 students for the matriculation exams and 22,256 students for the intermediate exams. The breakdown for intermediate students is 13,595 Arts, 4,697 Science and 3,964 Commerce students. To assist students during the exam period, a control room will be activated by the JAC and a helpline number will be available until the end of the exams. Additionally, two officers will be appointed to assist with any issues or queries.

The guidelines issued by JAC stress several key points for students to ensure a smooth examination experience. Students should reach the exam center at least 30 minutes before the start of the exam. The question papers will be opened in the presence of the students and they will be given 15 extra minutes to read and understand the question paper. Differently-abled students who need assistance will be provided with shruti writers on request. Prohibited items, such as calculators, mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, earphones and other electronic gadgets, are strictly banned in the exam centers. Furthermore, no unauthorized persons will be allowed inside the examination premises. In case a student loses or forgets their admit card, they can still appear for the exam provisionally after their identity is verified through a scanned photo from the attendance sheet and roll sheet.

The JAC is committed to ensuring a fair and smooth examination process with strict measures to maintain exam integrity and security.
