Jamshedpur/Ranchi, Feb 5: Despite the instructions from the Raj Bhavan, Kolhan University and Jamshedpur Women’s University have yet to release their academic and exam calendars for 2025. On January 7, Governor-cum-Chancellor Santosh Kumar Gangwar directed all the state universities to prepare and submit their Academic and Exam Calendar for 2025. In response, the Principal Secretary to the Governor, Nitin Madan Kulkarni, sent a letter to the 12 state universities urging them to send their calendars to the Raj Bhavan without delay. However, the universities, including Kolhan University, have not complied with the instructions so far.
The lack of a regular session in any government university in the state, including Kolhan University, has been a concern. Teachers overseeing academic activities and exams have suggested that if the academic calendar and examination calendar were strictly adhered to, the sessions could be regularized. The absence of a regular schedule is causing students to miss out on competitive examinations, which ultimately affects their career prospects.
In other news, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has extended the deadline for submitting applications for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET-PG) until February 8. The previous deadline was February 1 and applicants can now apply by visiting the NTA’s official website at exams.nta.ac.in. The preparations for the CUET PG exams are complete.
As for Kolhan University, its session has also been delayed, with several courses, including UG, PG, B.Ed, LLB, MCA and others, facing disrupted timelines. The university has initiated the process of scrutinizing applications for the appointment of need-based teachers. Those whose applications pass the scrutiny will be called for interviews. The university is preparing to conduct these interviews between the last week of February and March 15.
