Guard nabbed for theft at Tata Steel employee’s house in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, July 1: Police has disclosed the theft of Rs 12 lakhs at the house of Tata Steel employee Kaushal Kumar Singh, a resident of Pardesi Pada under Sonari police station.

In this case, the police arrested security guard Prem Kumar Mahato from the house. Prem is basically a resident of Mahuari township under Harla police station of Bokaro district. Presently he was working as a security guard living in an outhouse in Northern Town. The police have recovered Rs 3,85,500 in stolen cash and two mobiles purchased with the stolen money, a wooden bed, a dressing table and a cooler at his instance.

 Giving information in this regard on Saturday, Sonari police station in-charge Vishnu Prasad Raut told that Kaushal Kumar was present with his family at a hotel in Bistupur on the night of 30-31 May at his daughter’s wedding.

Meanwhile, 12 lakh was stolen by opening the almirah. On complaining about the matter, the police investigated and found that the theft was done by someone close to him. After this, taking the help of technology, the police arrested Prem from Bistupur. The station in-charge told that after committing the theft, Prem was behaving in a normal manner. Because of which the police did not suspect him.

It was learned that since the theft, he has been spending a lot of money. The police took him into custody and started questioning. He confessed to the theft and told that he bought goods with the stolen money and spent it on food and drink and  gave the rest of the money to friends on interest.
