‘Cleanliness Drive’ awareness campaign launched to prevent monsoon illnesses in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, July 11: In view of increasing health risks during the monsoon season, the Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee has launched a citywide awareness campaign under the initiative “Cleanliness for Health.” Deputy Municipal Commissioner Krishna Kumar spearheaded the campaign with the aim of encouraging residents to maintain hygiene and prevent waterborne and vector-borne diseases during the rainy months.

As part of the campaign, miking and public announcements were conducted across various city localities. Citizens were advised to dispose of household waste only through designated door-to-door garbage collection vehicles and were urged not to litter in public spaces. Officials highlighted the dangers of monsoon-related unhygienic conditions, stressing the need for community cooperation in maintaining cleanliness.

The campaign also promoted the segregation of wet and dry waste and reminded residents not to dump construction materials on roads. Violations would attract fines. Municipal Manager and Nodal Officer Nishant Kumar has been directed to ensure daily field visits by sanitation supervisors and to take strict action against those found violating cleanliness norms. The overall objective of the campaign is to safeguard public health and ensure a cleaner, healthier Jamshedpur during the monsoon.
