Jamshedpur, April 19: Debanjan Sinha continued his impressive run to remain at the top after the sixth round of the 46th East Singhbhum District Chess Championship, being held at the JRD Tata Sports Complex.
The second day of the tournament saw matches played up to the sixth round, with top-seeded Sinha (1946) defeating Bholanath Das to maintain his lead in the standings. His consistent performance has kept him firmly in first place.
Arijit Ghosh is currently in the second position, while Kumar Sankalp stands third after six rounds of play. In the girls’ category, top seed Navika Jaiswal (1835) is placed 16th overall, having secured 4.5 points so far.
The championship is set to conclude on Sunday with the final round of matches.
Chandan Kumar Prasad is serving as the Chief Arbiter, while Tournament Director N.K. Tiwari and East Singhbhum District Chess Association General Secretary Jayant Kumar Bhuyan were present during the event.
