32 widows of Hartopa to get pension

Jamshedpur: As many as 32 widows of Hartopa panchayat in Narwa Pahar, Jadugora, will get their first installment of pension from December this year. They were given widow Vidhwa Samman Pension certificates in a function organized at Hartopa school on Saturday. The block head of Potka Sukurmuni Tudu said the approval for pension was given with effect from November. The approval has been given to a total of 70 widows of Potka block. A total of 700 applications were sent by the block office to the district authorities concerned. Sources said a large number of women in the block have been deprived of widow pension for the last 50 years.
