Delayed polls hampering development

Jamshedpur: Development works have taken a backseat in Hartopa panchayat of Narwa Pahar in Jadugora owing to the delayed election of ward members. The Mukhiya of Hartopa, Malti Hansda, said many proposals for development were pending in want of approval since no ward member has been elected from the panchayat. As a result, funds allotted by the 14th Finance Commission could not be spent in the last three years. A meeting was held in this regard on Saturday. The villagers decided to meet the deputy commissioner and demand approval to the pending schemes and election of ward members.
