Jamshedpur: Police has got a big success in the robbery case of Rs30 lakh from businessman Saket Agiwal near the Gurudwara of Bistupur police station area.
Police raided the Kapali Dobo area and recovered the country-made pistol and bullets used in the robbery. Along with this, two youths have been arrested, while two women have been taken into custody and intensive interrogation is going on. The main accused Ganesh Karmakar is currently absconding.
According to sources, as soon as the police got the information on Friday night, Ganesh Karmakar reached the spot and ran away.
He escaped from the spot. After this, the police raided his girlfriend’s house. During the search, a country-made pistol, bullets and other suspicious items were recovered from there.
The investigation revealed that Ganesh had snatched the bag full of money from businessman Saket Agiwal. The police have also got hold of the CCTV footage of the incident, in which Ganesh’s picture is clearly shown.
The police raided the house of the accused late on Saturday night, but Ganesh managed to escape while hiding. At present, the police have identified the accused and intensified the extensive search operation. The arrested youths are being continuously interrogated, which is helping in finding the main accused and other absconding criminals.
This sensational incident took place on Thursday, when the criminals attacked businessman Saket Aggarwal by putting chilli powder in his eyes and snatched a bag full of about ₹ 30 lakh cash.
This incident has created a deep confusion among the local businessmen and the public regarding the security system.
Sources say that the whole case is likely to be exposed soon. Businessman Saket Agiwal is in deep shock mentally and financially due to this robbery. Police is also conducting a special investigation on the involvement of the gang and full disclosure is expected soon.
